President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the volleyball court in R. Innamaadhoo this morning during his ongoing tour of North Maalhosmadulu Atoll.
The President had met with Innamaadhoo residents on Wednesday evening, pledging special focus on establishing sports facilities for youth development.
Following the volleyball court inauguration, he inspected the facility before attending groundbreaking ceremonies for the island's new Police Station and Council Secretariat building.
The Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, led the groundbreaking for the Police Station, whilst the Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, led the groundbreaking for the Council Secretariat building.
Several Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials are accompanying the President on his tour.
