President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that it was a duty on the Governments to usher in development needed by the public and that this Administration seeks to fulfil that aspiration, as well as bring peace and stability to the nation, fully actualising the stability of the nation.
He made the statement addressing the residents of Maamedhoo island during his visit to several islands in Huvadhu Atoll on Wednesday evening.
The President indicated that in the past 14 months, the nation was stable, and no vendettas had been taken. He assured that there was no room in this Administration for vendettas, adding that it was not his belief to target and persecute based on political rivalry. He reiterated that this would be the policy going forward as well. This, he said, was to ensure that peace and stability for the nation.
Noting that peace and stability was essential in actualising development, he appealed all to take part in ensuring peace and stability, as well as the developmental initiatives. He added that peace and stability should be the highest priority for all citizens.
He added that establishing peace and stability was the cornerstone of holistic development, stressing that hand in hand with infrastructural development, we need to prioritise on further developing bonds of kinship and camaraderie.
The President further added that no individual or group would be allowed to infringe on this, stating that the Administration will take into account the needs of the nation and halt that action to establish peace and stability.
The President added that his Administration is committed to ensuring the nation remains and continues to benefit from our independence. He said the Maldives will continue to partner with any nation that truly respects our independence and sovereignty.
