First Lady inaugurates National Guideline on HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and Sexually Transmitted Infections

First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed has inaugurated the National Guideline on HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and Sexually Transmitted Infections. The guidelines were released at a ceremony held to mark the World Aids Day, held Monday at Meerumaa Lounge.

Following the launch of the National Guideline on HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and Sexually Transmitted Infections, a panel discussion was held on the Guideline. Participants discussed the spread of HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and Sexually Transmitted Infections as well as detection and treatment.

The guidelines were issued after a nine-year break. The revision, collection, compilation and implementation of the guidelines is significant progress for the nation in the health sector. The guidelines issued today is based on the guidelines and advice of World Health Organisation (WHO).
