President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has on Saturday announced that the Administration would commence the Maamigili Hospital project within the year and address other council concerns to the best possible outcome. He made these remarks during a meeting with the Maamigili Island Council and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC).
During the meeting at the Secretariat of the Dhan’gethi Island Council, council members shared the concerns of the resident population and their developmental needs with the President. They requested that the hospital, harbour, and road development projects be undertaken in accordance with the aspirations of the island community. They also stressed the necessity of a building to house the island’s police station.
Members of Maamigili WDC enquired about the latest updates of the allowances allocated for WDCs.
Cabinet Ministers accompanying the President provided updates on the latest developmental projects planned for Maamigili Island.
President Dr Muizzu assured the Administration would ensure the needs of the WDCs are met and highlighted the efforts underway in this regard. He further stated that the Administration would address the concerns raised by the island council.
