The Thoddoo Island Council has emphasised that a Presidential visit, during which the President assesses developmental needs and engages with the island community, is crucial for ensuring the island’s best interests. They made the remarks during their meeting with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu this morning, as part of his tour of the islands of AA and Malé Atoll.

During the meeting, council members highlighted the challenges in delivering health services on the island and requested the establishment of a better health centre. They also discussed the space constraints at the island school and advocated for financial arrangements to boost the island’s economy.

The President assured the council that his Presidential pledges would progress with these projects being earmarked in the budget. He also announced a road development project for the island.

Cabinet Ministers accompanying the President provided updates on individual projects planned for the island’s progress. During the meeting, the President signed the visitors’ book at the council.
