First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed has concluded her official visit to Dhiggaru Island of Meemu Atoll and returned to Malé.
During the visit, the First Lady graced the official ceremony held to mark World Diabetes Day 2024. She also inaugurated the “Lifestyle Intervention Programme,” which aims to assess how sustainable lifestyle changes can reduce the risk of developing diabetes and other non-communicable diseases among the screened target population aged 16 and above from Dhiggaru Island.
During her visit, the First Lady officially unveiled the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Clinic at the Health Centre in Dhiggaru Island of Meemu Atoll.
World Diabetes Day is celebrated on 14 November annually. This year’s World Diabetes Day theme, set by the International Diabetes Federation, is “Diabetes and Well-being,” which focuses on mental, physical, and social well-being.
