President Dr Mohamed Muizzu conveyed greetings and well wishes to President His Excellency Xi Jinping and Premier of the State Council, His Excellency Li Qiang, on the occasion of the 75th National Day of the People’s Republic of China.
In his letter to President Xi Jinping, President Dr Muizzu reflected on the successful State Visit to China he undertook in January this year, and reiterated the Maldives’ commitment to the One-China Principle, shared values of mutual respect, the principles of sovereign equality, territorial integrity, and non-intervention in internal affairs. He expressed confidence that the renewed partnership between the Maldives and China will continue to grow, bringing mutual benefit to both nations.
In a separate letter to Premier Li Qiang, President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed the Maldives’ steadfast commitment to deepening partnership across all areas of mutual interest. He expressed confidence that the close collaboration between the two nations would elevate the existing strong and friendly ties to new heights.
The National Day of China commemorates the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949.
