Your Excellency Matrek Aldosari, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Maldives,
Excellencies,
Distinguished guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,
and a very good afternoon to you all.
It is indeed a true privilege and a great honour to be a part of this momentous celebration of the Ninety-Fourth National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On behalf of His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, as well as the Government and the people of Maldives, I wish to convey our sincere felicitations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and to the Saudi Government and our dear brothers and sisters in Saudi Arabia.
Excellencies, Distinguished guests,
The Maldives and Saudi Arabia have fostered a remarkable bilateral relationship over the last four decades. The strong bond between our two countries is deeply rooted in our shared Islamic traditions, uniting us through our faith, history and values grounded in Islam.
Since His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu assumed Office, we are witnessing intensified efforts to strengthen the bilaterial ties between our two countries, guided by the vision of our esteemed leaders. This occasion presents an excellent opportunity to highlight some recent developments in this regard.
On the recent auspicious Hajj season, over 1000 Maldivians performed the holy pilgrimage in Mecca. The exceptional arrangements and warm hospitality extended to our people during this time, reflects the strong brotherly bond between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives.
In this regard, I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for the mosques built across the nation, especially the King Salman Mosque built in Male’. Furthermore, we are also deeply humbled and grateful for the generous assistance extended by the Government of Saudi Arabia, especially through the Saudi Fund for Development, which has been vital in advancing the socio-economic development across various sectors including the development of airports, healthcare, fisheries, infrastructure, housing and sanitation.
Excellencies, Distinguished Guests,
The bond between our two countries has truly withstood the test of time, and I wish to reaffirm President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu’s strong commitment to strengthening our bilateral relationship. The Government of Maldives extends a special gratitude to Ambassador Matrek and his team at the Embassy for their tireless efforts. The Maldives remains committed to collaborating closely with Saudi Arabia to promote Islamic solidarity in the multilateral arena.
I pray for continued good health and prosperity to the Kingdom and once again express my best congratulations to His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, all the Royal Family and the people of Saudi Arabia on this joyous occasion.
Thank you all, Jazakallah Khairan
