Ambassador of the Qatar to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Jassim bin Jaber J.B. Al-Sorour, presented his Letters of Credence to the President, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held on Monday morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador was escorted to the President’s Office from Republic Square in a cultural procession called “Haiykolhu" with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
The Ambassador presented his Letters of Credence to the President, who accepted it and welcomed his as the Ambassador of Qatar to the Maldives.
Following the presentation, the President and Ambassador addressed ways to expand bilateral ties between the Maldives and Qatar, as well as potential areas for further collaboration in trade and investments.
The Ambassador is accredited to the Maldives as a non-resident Ambassador and resides in Sri Lanka.
