Ambassador of Angola to the Maldives, His Excellency Clemente Pedro Francisco, presented his Letters of Credence to the President, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador was escorted to the President's Office from the Republic Square in a cultural procession "Haiykolhu" with MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band.
The Ambassador presented his Letters of Credence to the President, who accepted it and welcomed him as the Ambassador of Angola to the Maldives.
Following the presentation, the President noted that this is Angola's first non-resident Ambassador to the Maldives and expressed hope to strengthen the two countries' bilateral relations, including trade and business cooperation.
Diplomatic Relations between Maldives and Angola was established on 10 November 2020.
Ambassador is accredited to the Maldives as a non-resident Ambassador and resides in New Delhi, India.
