High Commissioner of the Republic of India to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Munu Mahawar, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today. The meeting took place at the President's Office this afternoon.
The President and the High Commissioner discussed avenues to further bolster ties between the two nations. Additionally, they spoke on various projects undertaken by India in the Maldives.
The High Commissioner expressed gratitude to the President for accepting the invitation and attending the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister His Excellency Narendra Modi for a new term. He highlighted numerous productive avenues of ongoing cooperation between the two nations. He reitertated India's commitment to assist in the progress and development for the Maldives and its people.
The President conveyed appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended by the Indian government during his visit to witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony. The President expressed gratitude for India's commitment to assisting the Maldives in its development and addressing the needs of Maldivians.
Before concluding the meeting, the President and High Commissioner reiterated their unwavering commitment to fostering continued close relations and enhancing bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and India. They also agreed to continue to work together towards the common goals of maintaining peace and stability in the Indian Ocean.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's foreign policy is shaped around maintaining friendly relations with all partners to accelerate the developmental plan of the country.
