President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has arrived in Antigua and Barbuda to participate in the fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
During the Summit, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will deliver the National Statement at the plenary of the Summit on May 27, 2024. Additionally, he is scheduled to meet with several foreign dignitaries and deliver remarks at some of the side events of the Summit.
President Dr Muizzu is also one of the Vice Presidents of the conference as well as co-chair of one of the five interactive dialogues organised by the United Nations (UN) at the conference.
The UN holds the Conference on SIDS once a decade. One of the highlights of the fourth International Conference on SIDS is the adoption of the new Programme of Action, the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS. This years conference is held under the overarching theme of "charting the course toward resilient prosperity."
