President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the L. Gan Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members at the L. Gan Council's Secretariat to discuss the island's developmental needs.
During the meeting, Council members updated the President on allocating land for housing to the residents. They emphasised the importance of constructing a park, increasing the Council's block grant funding, and developing school facilities.
The Council members expressed their concerns regarding delaying the road development project and the sewerage network in newly populated areas. They also highlighted the significance of seeking solutions for housing issues. The WDC members shared their concerns regarding the WDC's allowance.
Speaking at the meeting, President Dr Muizzu shared his vision of establishing a mental healthcare hospital on Gan Island. He stated that the hospital would be of international calibre, featuring more spacious quarters and highly qualified physicians.
The President offered updates on the Government's ongoing initiatives to address the issues raised by the Council through the ministers present at the meeting and assured them that he would address their concerns.
