President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the L. Kunahandhoo Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) members to discuss the island's key concerns and vital needs. The meeting took place at the Fonadhoo Community Centre.

At the meeting, Council members briefed the President on the obstacles hindering development on the island. They emphasised the inadequate sanitation facilities and the necessity of constructing a football field. Additionally, the Council discussed their plans to generate employment opportunities in the island and provided their perspective on revitalising stalled projects and enhancing the Kunahandhoo School further.

The Council emphasised key concerns such as the challenge of swell surges during high tide and the urgent need to resolve accessibility issues to hospital services.

The President assured the council members that he would address the issues brought up during the meeting, and he relayed the latest updates on the issues raised by the Council through the Ministers present.
