President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the L. Fonadhoo Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) members to discuss the island's most pertinent concerns and development priorities. The meeting took place at the Fonadhoo Community Centre.

At the meeting, the Council raised concerns about the delayed road construction and the challenges encountered by the school due to its dual sessions. Additionally, they emphasised the importance of establishing an artificial beach area for elderly residents to access the sea safely.

The Council addressed various issues, including water supply, sanitation, and electricity, exploring potential solutions. Furthermore, they deliberated with the President on enhancing the island's healthcare system and exploring tourism prospects.

During the meeting, Fonadhoo Island’s WDC pointed out insufficient funding for their activities. They also emphasised the necessity of pension schemes, maternity leave, Ramadan allowances, borrowing opportunities, and fair wages for committee members.

President Dr Muizzu committed to addressing the concerns raised by the Council. He additionally offered updates on the Government's ongoing initiatives aimed at addressing the issues raised by the Council through the Ministers present at the meeting.
