President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the L. Dhan’bidhoo Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) members to discuss the island's residents' concerns and most pressing issues. The meeting took place at the Dhan’bidhoo School.
During the meeting, the Dhan’bidhoo Council expressed to the President their concerns regarding the halted development projects initiated on the island. They emphasised the importance of addressing issues such as the delayed construction of the proposed mosque, establishing a social centre, and modernising the main roads.
The Council members informed the President about the challenges confronting Dhanbidhoo, including erosion, sanitation issues, and harbour concerns. Additionally, they discussed the difficulties encountered in providing affordable housing for the island’s residents. The Dhan’bidhoo WDC also expressed challenges in carrying out their tasks.
The President assured the Council members that he would address the issues brought up during the meeting and relayed the latest updates on the key issues raised by the Council through the Ministers present.
