First Lady Sajidha Mohamed stressed on Thursday night the importance of conducting Quran competitions to instil a love for the holy Quran among children.
She made the remarks while speaking at the closing ceremony of the Quran Competition 1445, organised by C.A.P.S. (Child Abuse Prevention Society) to commemorate the late Al-Marhoom Ibthihaal. She commended C.A.P.S. for conducting the competition and highlighted the importance of such competitions in instilling Islamic virtues in children.
During the ceremony, the First Lady handed awards and momentos to the recipients who won first, second, and third place in the competition. Fifty-three children participated in the competition, which was open to students from Vilimalé. The competition was open to four age groups, including a category for children with special needs.
