President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the V. Thinadhoo Council and Women's Development Committee (W.D.C.)members at the Secretariat of Felidhe Atoll Council, to discuss developmental initiatives.
At the meeting, Council Members underlined the necessity to develop the island’s harbour, and a waste management center. The discussions also centered on addressing beach erosion issues, alleviating space constraints for the Council's Secretariat, and promoting sports development.
Furthermore, they stressed their concern regarding the slow progress of the water and sanitation project, and the challenges concerning the health centre.
With respect to the island’s harbour, the President stated that the E.I.A. would be finalised before a decision on the Project was reached, and that all additional concerns expressed throughout the meeting would be addressed. The Ministers in attendance provided updates on the Government's current initiatives to resolve the issues raised by the Council.
