President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Kamadhoo Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) and discussed their most crucial developmental needs. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of Baa Atoll Kendhoo Island Council.

At the meeting, Council Members emphasised the pressing issues of land erosion, concerns about the electricity supply network, and resource limitations faced by the island due to a relatively small residential population, despite the thriving local tourism sector encouraging residents to stay. In addition, Council Members advocated for road construction that facilitates flood drainage instead of developing tar-paved roads.

Council members also expressed their desire to have Madhirivaadhoo Island under its purview to reap economic benefits for the council, and highlighted other relevant social development issues. At the meeting, WDC members relayed concerns regarding the budgetary constraints for their activities.

In response, the President assured efforts to address the concerns relayed by the Council.
