President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has engaged in discussions with the Maalhos Island Council and members of the Women's Development Committee (WDC) regarding the crucial developmental needs of the island. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of South Maalhosmadulu Atoll.
During the meeting, Council Members expressed concerns that Hibalhidhoo Island has not yet been formally transferred to the council's purview, even though it has been included within their jurisdiction.
Members underscored the importance of harbour-related services, coastal protection measures, relocating Maalhos School to another area, and other essential developmental requirements for the residential community.
Government representatives provided updates on the concerns raised by the council during the meeting.
