President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared Maaddoo Island under the purview of Eydhafushi Island. The President made it official by signing a presidential decree. The President signed the decree before meeting the Eydhafushi Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC).
At the meeting, council members highlighted the immediate need to initiate a housing project on the island, upgrade the health services offered by Baa Atoll Hospital, resolve issues relating to electricity services, and the need for a salary increment for the council's administrative employees.
The President relayed that the Administration would consider the issues addressed at the meeting and work towards resolving them.
