President Dr Mohamed Muizzu emphasised the Rasgetheemu Island Council meeting as his 100th council meeting since initiating efforts to meet all local councils nationwide from 6th February 2024. He made these remarks while meeting with the Rasgetheemu Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC), at the Secretariat of Un'goofaaru Island Council today.
At the meeting, Council Members addressed the need for road construction, the provision of water and sanitation services to additional households, the expedited building of eight classrooms and a multipurpose hall in the school, and the importance of a cultural centre and a slipway. Additionally, Council Members expressed the need for a children's park, a football stadium, and other requirements for the island's social progress.
In response, the President revealed that the Administration would dedicate resources towards building a slipway within the scope of constructing the harbour channel. He added that the Administration would give importance to establishing a cultural centre on the island.
