President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has held deliberations with the Maduvvari Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) to address the essential needs of the resident community of Maduvvari Island, North Maalhosmadulu Atoll. The meeting was held on Saturday evening at the Secretariat of Meedhoo Island Council.
At the meeting, Council members conveyed the need to maximise land reclamation within feasible limits, increase housing opportunities, establish a youth center, and address the developmental needs of the school. They also brought attention to concerns related to coastal erosion, the development of sporting facilities, and ongoing infrastructure projects.
Council members further conveyed the need for an airport development on the southernmost end of the atoll, coupled with the incorporation of Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry services. The Women's Development Committee members relayed their most pressing needs and concerns to the President.
President Dr Muizzu and Cabinet Ministers present at the meeting provided the latest updates on the issues raised by the Council.
