Noting the substantial economic potential in Kendhikulhudhoo's distinct natural features, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu affirmed the Government's commitment to supporting revenue generation for the island's community. He made these remarks while addressing the Ken'dhikulhudhoo community today.
Speaking at the community meeting, the President highlighted his initiative of establishing the 'Visitor Economy Council,' dedicated to exploring new avenues beyond conventional tourism development, specifically focusing on leveraging the unique potential of each island.
He also underscored that the Government's initiative to foster small and medium enterprises and promote ecotourism by harnessing the natural resources of Ken'dhikulhudhoo. President Muizzu urged residents to utilize this opportunity efficiently.
Speaking at the meeting, the President reiterated his commitment to upholding the Maldives’ Constitution.
Ken’dhikulhudhoo marks the final destination of the President's tour across Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, and Noonu Atoll, which commenced on Saturday. Throughout the six-day visit, the President engaged with city and island councils and women's development committees, discussing crucial development projects and addressing the most urgent needs of the people.
The attending Ministers briefed the councils on the Government's efforts regarding the issues identified by the respective councils.
