President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Sh. Komandoo Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Shaviyani Atoll Education Centre.
At the meeting, Council members shared their development needs with the President. Issues raised included expediting the installation of the seawall enclosing the island, speeding up the development of the sewerage network project, and completing the establishment of the Ice Plant to supply ice to fishermen. In addition, the Council also emphasised resolving the issues with the water network and the development of an airport to enhance tourism and foster economic growth.
At the meeting, Komandoo WDC members shared the challenges faced due to space constraints. They also shared their plans to prepare for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
In response, the President stated that the Administration would work towards addressing the points raised by the Council. The Ministers in attendance shared the latest updates on the Government's efforts to address the issues.
