President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the members of the Sh. Kan'ditheemu Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC). The meeting was held at the Secretariat of Kan'ditheemu Council.
The members emphasised the need for health sector development, increased classrooms in the school, and for the new homes' immediate surroundings to have access to sewerage and water sanitation systems. The Council also noted the need for road modernisation, harbour development, and erosion prevention on the island's shore. They further conveyed the significance of expanding the business and tourism sectors.
During the meeting, the Kan'ditheemu WDC made a strong case for changing their labour as an occupation and making them eligible for employment benefits.
In response, the President stated that the Administration would examine the issues raised by the members. The Ministers in attendance offered the latest updates on the Government's efforts to resolve the issues raised by the Council.
