President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to establish a land connection between Gadhdhoo Island and Maavarulu Airport today. He made the remarks while speaking with GDh. Gadhdhoo residents during his visit to the island on his ongoing tour of several islands in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, and the North and South Huvadhu Atolls.

Speaking at the G.Dh. Atoll Education Centre, the President underscored the necessity for multiple developmental initiatives to facilitate the growth of Gadhdhoo Island. The President emphasised land reclamation as a critical concern and committed to launching the requisite project. Furthermore, the President assured that the Administration would prioritise and accelerate the hospital project on the island.

At the meeting, the President appealed for the residential community to support the Administration's efforts in executing developmental projects on the island. He further implored those in positions of authority to honour their oath and serve the citizenry equitably, irrespective of their political leanings. The President emphasised that all elected officials bear a responsibility and that their duties must be discharged with the utmost sincerity and integrity. He concluded by stating that political ideologies should not obstruct the diligent execution of these responsibilities.

At the meeting, the President affirmed that his Administration is committed to honouring the pledges made and will prioritise the nation's development and the enhancement of the citizens' income.
