President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) of Thimarafushi Island in the Kolhumadulu Atoll today. The meeting was held at the secretariat of the Kolhumadulu Atoll Council.

At the meeting, the council members assured they would support the island's development initiatives and shared the most pressing developmental needs and issues with the President. They relayed that they urgently required harbour repairs, including constructing a breakwater. They also discussed the need for a hospital, fundamental utility services in the construction zone for new housing units, and support for sports development.

During the meeting, members of the Women Development Committee also expressed crucial concerns and needs during the meeting.

In response, the President stated he would make every effort to find an amicable resolution to the issues highlighted by WDC. President Dr Muizzu assured that the relevant government ministries would collaborate closely with the council to find mutually agreeable solutions to the concerns raised by them.

On this trip, the President is accompanied by a delegation of high-level Government officials.
