The First Lady attends a ceremony to hand over equipment donated by the Chinese Embassy to Maafushi School

First Lady Sajida Mohamed attended the ceremony to hand over equipment donated by the Chinese Embassy to Maafushi School today.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady remarked that the donations will greatly enrich the students’ academic experience and benefit the teachers. She also noted that the sports equipment will contribute to fostering the physical well-being of the students.

The First Lady highlighted that education is the cornerstone of society's development and that investing in the educational infrastructure of Maafushi School lays the groundwork for the island's long-term prosperity. She additionally stated that the benefits of this donation extend far beyond the walls of Maafushi School, serving the entire island community.

Concluding her speech, the First Lady expressed heartfelt gratitude to the People's Republic of China and Governor of Yunnan Province, H.E. Wang Yubo, for the generous donation. She also thanked Ambassador Wang Lixin and the China Embassy for their unwavering support and invaluable assistance in facilitating this grant.
