On Tuesday, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu sent a message of congratulations to H.H. Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on his ascension as the Amir of the State of Kuwait.
In his message the President extended felicitation on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives to the new Amir of Kuwait.
He stated that the enduring ties between the Maldives and Kuwait were built upon mutual trust, respect, and shared Islamic values which was rooted in cultural and historical links. The President added that the Maldives deeply values Kuwait's steadfast support and assistance, which has played a crucial role in advancing the Maldives' socio-economic objectives.
Moreover, the President expressed his confidence that the new Amir’s wisdom and vision will steer Kuwait towards new heights of development and that both countries will witness further strengthening of the close bonds of friendship and cooperation in all spheres of engagement.
The President also reiterated his heartfelt condolences to the new Amir, the Government, and the people of Kuwait, following the demise of the late Amir, H.H. Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
