H.E. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, H.E. Gaston Browne, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Twenty-Eighth Session of the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

Discussions between the President and the Prime Minister were focused on priority areas for the two Small Island Developing States (SIDS), including environment, climate change, and tourism cooperation.

Prime Minister extended an invitation to the President to attend the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States to be held in Antigua and Barbuda in May 2024.

The two leaders concluded the call by expressing their eagerness to enhance deeper collaboration between the two countries.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Antigua and Barbuda were established on March 25, 2002.
