The Special Envoy of the Chinese President, H.E. Shen Yiqin, State Councillor of the People's Republic of China, paid a courtesy call on H.E. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, where they conversed on the importance of fortifying the existing China-Maldives friendship. The meeting was held on Saturday morning at the President's Office.
State Councillor H.E. Shen Yiqin congratulated the President on his successful inauguration and expressed her confidence that relations between the two countries would further strengthen during this presidential term. She also conveyed greetings and well wishes from the President of China, H.E. Xi Jinping.
During the meeting, the President thanked the Government of China for its contributions to the socio-economic development of the Maldives over the years. He stated that today marks a new chapter in the shared historic friendship between the two countries. The President further expressed his confidence in continued collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including regional cooperation, economic cooperation and people-to-people contact.
Concluding the call, President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the relationship between Maldives and China and achieving shared goals.
