President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih participated in the nationwide second round of the 2023 Presidential Elections by casting his ballot this Saturday. This morning, the voting procedure was carried out at his designated polling station in Jamaaluddin School.
In today's electoral proceedings, polling stations commenced operations at 8 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m. As per the data from the Elections Commission of the Maldives, 282,804 individuals are eligible to partake in this year's second round of elections. The commission has implemented all requisite measures to guarantee a seamless and equitable voting process.
The initial round of voting took place on Saturday, September 9, 2023, with eight candidates vying for the position. However, the second round of elections is a competition between the two leading contenders from the first round.
