Vice President Faisal Naseem acknowledged on Monday the pivotal role of Ooredoo Maldives in the nation's digital transformation journey and emphasised the company's unwavering commitment to fostering the growth of the Maldives' digital economy. He made these remarks during the inauguration ceremony of the Ooredoo Maldives Headquarters in Hulhumalé.
During his speech, the Vice President detailed the administration's key initiatives to propel the country's digital economy. These include 'oneGov', a platform designed to consolidate government services through a modern digital interface, and 'eFaas', a mobile application serving as our national digital ID system.
Vice President Naseem highlighted the launch of the Ocean Connect Maldives-India Asia Express (OCM-IAX) submarine cable system in Hulhumalé, marking a significant stride in the Maldives' journey to becoming a technology hub. He also emphasised the remarkable progress made in making broadband and mobile internet more accessible and affordable under the current administration's efforts.
In his concluding remarks, the Vice President expressed profound gratitude towards Ooredoo Group, Ooredoo Maldives, and their dedicated team for their steadfast commitment to the development of the Maldives and their relentless efforts in shaping a digital future for the nation. In recognition of his support, Ooredoo Maldives honoured the Vice President with a commemorative plaque during the ceremony.
The newly inaugurated Ooredoo Maldives Headquarters is a technologically advanced facility designed to stimulate productivity and innovation. It features an Ooredoo Experience Centre, a Club Premier Lounge for customers, and high-performance office spaces with modern amenities.
