President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the completion of the three-story new building for Narudhoo School, the extension building for the healthcare centre, and the new FENAKA powerhouse on Narudhoo Island in Shaviyani Atoll on Tuesday. These projects were inaugurated during President Solih's ongoing visit to Shaviyani Atoll.
After its inauguration, President Solih toured the three-story new building for Narudhoo School. The building features six classrooms, a staff room, a health room, and a computer laboratory. The new building will allow Narudhoo School to resolve space constraints and transition to single-session schooling.
President Solih also visited and toured the health centre extension building on Narudhoo Island after its inauguration. The new wing includes an administrative space for managing healthcare staff, a public health unit offering preventive and promotive health services, a counselling room, a medical store ensuring the availability of essential medicines and supplies, and a general store.
The powerhouse built on Narudhoo Island can accommodate 40 staff members and has modern facilities. The facility is strategically located away from residential areas and has a power generation capacity of 628 Kilowatts. The old powerhouse was built in the centre of the residential neighbourhood 31 years ago. These initiatives are part of the administration's commitment to addressing island residents' challenges.
Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has made significant progress towards achieving equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes improving citizens' quality of life and empowering them to lead dignified lives. President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services during his island visits.
