President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih conferred awards and certificates on Thursday to the top achievers of the 2021–2022 secondary examinations. He was joined by First Lady Fazna Ahmed and Vice President Faisal Naseem at the ceremony in Dharubaaruge.
On the second part of the "Top Achievers' Award 2021-2022" ceremony, President Solih conferred awards to nine students who achieved first place in the secondary examinations and four recognised as top achievers who secured first place worldwide in individual subject categories.
The First Lady presented awards to 16 students who achieved second place, while three were honoured as top achievers for their placements ranging from second to tenth globally in their respective subject categories. At the ceremony, the Vice President gave awards to 45 students who achieved third place in their respective examinations
Out of the 6,360 candidates who took the secondary examinations last year, 844 students achieved a position in the prestigious national top 10 rankings. This includes 11 students ranked in the world's top 10, while nine were honoured with the High Achievement Award.
