President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih attended the final match of the President's Cup football tournament on Tuesday evening. The final match and closing ceremony of the tournament were held at the Galholhu National Stadium.
Maziya Sports and Recreation Club faced Club Eagles in the final, with Maziya Sports and Recreation Club winning the tournament with a score of 2-0.
During the closing ceremony, The President conferred the winners with the championship trophy and medals. The President of the Football Association of Maldives; Bassam Adheel Jaleel also presented President Solih with the jersey of the National Football Team that will be used in the upcoming SAFF Championship 2023 tournament.
This is the 69th President’s Cup football tournament held in the Maldives, with the first tournament being held in 1946.
