Chief Guide and First Lady Fazna Ahmed on Saturday participated in the "Eid Project" initiated and organised by the Young Leaders of the Maldives Girl Guide Association.
Since the year 2000, the Maldives Girl Guide Association has visited the Home for People with Special Needs in K. Guraidhoo on the second day of Eid al-Fitr and provided them with gifts on the auspicious occasion of Eid. This year marks the 24th consecutive year of their annual Eid Project.
The First Lady joined them in celebrating Eid and spoke with some of the residents at the facility, inquiring about their affairs and well-being. She also exchanged Eid gifts with them and participated in several Eid games at the facility.
The Maldives Girl Guide Association has continued this one-day event uninterrupted in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which the event was held virtually. The First Lady previously visited the Home for People with Special Needs and participated in 2019’s Eid Project, as well as the virtual events held in 2020 and 2021.
