Vice President Faisal Naseem on Monday called for a whole-of-society approach to ensuring road safety and urged government offices, institutions, and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to support the Maldives Police Service (MPS) in increasing public awareness on the issue. He made these remarks while speaking at an awareness session held by the police under its "Fahiraastha" campaign. The session was held at the Islamic Centre's hall.

The Vice President stated that all government offices, institutions, and SOEs are responsible for increasing awareness about road safety in their workplaces for their employees. He also called on the participants of the session to work towards improving road safety awareness at work and home.

Noting the high number of road accidents, especially during this Ramadan, the Vice President called on all drivers to commit to ensuring the safety of themselves and other road users. The session, attended by senior officials of government offices and institutions and SOEs, featured a presentation on the number and causes of road accidents in the Greater Malé Region.
