President Nasheed and Madam Laila Ali will depart early tomorrow morning on an official visit to the United Kingdom.
Speaking to the media, the President said his visit to the United Kingdom is on the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II. During his visit to the UK, the President will spend the night at the Windsor Castle. In addition, accompanied by Prince Andrew Duke of York, the President will attend a Maldives investment showcase seminar at the Royal Automobile Club.
President Nasheed will also attend a meeting with tour operators, which the government believes will help in promoting Maldivian tourism in Europe. He is also scheduled to meet with the Commonwealth Secretary General as well as the Secretary General of Amnesty International.
The President is also scheduled to give Lecture at Royal Commonwealth Society. He will also give media interviews to some of the prominent stations in the UK.
