President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met on Monday afternoon with the council members of Addu City and discussed the ongoing developmental work and needs of the residents. At the President's Office meeting, the council members noted that Addu City is one of the cities with the highest number of ongoing developmental projects.
The council members expressed their gratitude to the President for the close attention he accords to the development and needs of the city's people. The council members also shared their concerns with the President and discussed ways to address budget constraints, housing needs, infrastructure development projects, and other social issues.
The President told the council members that he would discuss ways to address the concerns raised at the meeting with relevant government stakeholders. The President also assured that the administration would work with relevant stakeholders to address local councils' challenges following the new amendments to the Decentralisation Act.
Members of Parliament representing Addu City also attended the meeting.
