Vice President Faisal Naseem on Thursday met with the council members of Kalaidhoo Island in the Laamu Atoll. At the meeting held at the President’s Office, the Vice President and the council members held extensive discussions on the island’s developmental plans.
The council members briefed the Vice President on the pace of developmental projects and expressed the need to expedite the harbour development project and the Kalaidhoo-Dhanbidhoo causeway project. The council members also shared the need for coastal protection and a multipurpose hall for the school and discussed ways to address the other socioeconomic conditions of the residents.
The Vice President shared the latest updates on the status of development projects planned for the island. He said that the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Kalaidhoo-Dhanbidhoo causeway project was underway. The Vice President also assured the council members that the administration would work towards addressing their concerns.
