The Government of Maldives has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University College London (UCL) on conduction research on environment friendly technologies. The MoU was signed yesterday during President Nasheed’s officials of the United Kingdom.

Minister of Housing, Transport and Environment, Mr Mohamed Aslam signed the MoU on behalf of the government of Maldives while, Provost and President of the University College London, Prof Malcolm Grant signed the MoU on behalf of the University.

UCL is one of the top 10 Universities in the world. Nobel prizes have been awarded to 20 former UCL academics and graduates, who have had a profound impact in shaping major scientific and social change.

During President Nasheed’s ongoing visit to the UK, a meeting to give information on capital investment and finances for the development of Gulheefalhu was also held. Discussions at the meeting focused on the proposals for the project from four oversees companies.
