President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed on Tuesday evening attended the closing ceremony of the "Majeedi Run," held as part of Majeediyya School’s 95th anniversary celebrations. The event took place at the Ekuveni Track in Malé City.

Before the closing ceremony commenced, President Solih and First Lady Fazna joined the run and completed some laps. The President then put out the torch designated for the event, marking the end of the event. The President and First Lady were accompanied by Vice President Faisal Naseem at the event, which also saw the initiation of the official countdown for the school’s centennial anniversary.

Many former students of the school participated in the event, including the Speaker of Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed, and Chief Justice Uz Ahmed Muthasim Adnan, in addition to government ministers and state dignitaries, current students, and members of the public. The "Majeedi Run" was held from May 13-17, 2022, themed "Majeediyya - Towards 100 years of nation-building" at the Ekuveni Track.
