Vice President Faisal Naseem on Monday reiterated the administration’s commitment to sports development, stating that unprecedented levels of sports development projects are currently ongoing at different stages across the country. He was speaking at a function held to officially unveil the logo of the upcoming "South Asian Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Championship 2022."

The logo for the competition was unveiled at a function held at the table tennis hall of the Hulhumalé Sports Mini Complex. In his remarks, Vice President Faisal Naseem touched on the administration’s accomplishments in sports development and highlighted the numerous projects underway across the country to develop sports further.

Underscoring the administration’s commitment to encouraging the youth to pursue careers in sports, the Vice President described sports as something that helps promote community development. He then assured the administration’s commitment to ensuring the sports industry thrives.

The three-day tournament for junior athletes, held in the Maldives from May 9-12, would feature teams from seven countries in the South Asia region: Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and the Maldives.
