A series of webinar programs under the name ‘Visioning Maldives: Leadership Dialogues’ has been launched as a part of Executive, Enhancement & Enrichment Program (EEEP 2021-2023). This program is carried out with the aid of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with United Nations Development Program Maldives, the Public Service Training Unit of the President’s Office and the Civil Service Training Institute (CSTI).

The first session of the series “Visioning Maldives: Leadership dialogues” was held virtually on March 23, 2022. The session was focused on ‘leading through Uncertainty: Strategic Foresight’.

The opening remarks of the session was delivered by Honorable Minister of National Planning Housing and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam. In the high level policy dialogue over 280 top government officials representing various government institutions participated.

The first session was facilitated by Ms.Aarathi Krishnan, Strategic Advisor on Foresight from the UNDP Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific highlighting on risk changing and its impact on development pathways, and the importance of strategic thinking. Mr. Leith Veremaito, Director of the Department of Local Authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Vanuatu, joined the session as a guest speaker, and shared his experience on the practical application of strategic foresight in government administration.

The Public Service Training Unit of Presidents Office, together with United Nations Development Program, have plans for further sessions under Executive, Enhancement & Enrichment Program (EEEP).

The Executive, Enhancement & Enrichment Program (EEEP) was officially launched on December 27, 2021, by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, to improve the skills and capabilities of political and executive-level staff in public offices. Local and international experts in the field would facilitate the two-year training programme.
