President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Wednesday evening presented awards to the most prestigious winners of the 34th National Quran Recitation Competition. The awards ceremony for the competition, organised by the National Centre for Holy Quran, was held at the Islamic Centre.
President Solih presented the awards to the top winners in the categories of recitation from the book, recitation from memory, and for Hafizes, in addition to the top institution and first-place winner from the entire competition. Held virtually for all Maldivians living at home and abroad, the competition this year featured six age groups and 1,700 participants. 98 participants represented different state and private institutions.
