Vice President Faisal Naseem on Sunday afternoon inaugurated the new football stadium developed in Nilandhoo Island in Faafu Atoll and officiated the final game of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Under-19 Youth Championship 2021/22. He is on Nilandhoo Island as part of a two-day visit to two islands in the Faafu and Alifu Dhaalu Atolls.
The Club Eagles took on Super United Sports in the final game of the competition. They beat their rivals 1-0 to lift the championship trophy, presented to the winning team by the Vice President after the final game.
The government-funded football grounds, with the installation of turf, were developed by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment.
