President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Tuesday toured the Noonu Atoll Hospital in Manadhoo Island, South Miladhunmadulu Atoll, and inquired into the progress of the project to develop an extension building for the hospital. There, he met with the management and staff and learnt about the services, including the need for an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The new hospital extension, which includes six Outpatient Department (OPD) rooms and a laboratory, is now completed. This January would see an announcement of tenders for all furnishing requirements and the installation of medical-grade air conditioning systems.
President Solih’s stop in Manadhoo Island today is the third leg of his two-day tour of the South Miladhunmadulu Atoll. He is accompanied on the visit by some members of his Cabinet and senior government officials.
