President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Wednesday afternoon signed the book of condolences opened by Parliament for the late Member of Parliament for Komandoo Constituency Hussain Waheed. The late parliamentarian passed away on Monday.

In his message, President Solih penned that the late MP Hussain Waheed was a dear friend and colleague. Recalling their acquaintance, the President said he had noticed the late parliamentarian’s kind-heartedness and joyful character since their initial meeting.

Appreciating the invaluable services of the late parliamentarian, the President recalled his contributions to politics, describing him as a close associate with a courageous mindset who dispensed productive counsel. The President concluded his message praying for the Almighty Allah to bless late MP Hussain Waheed’s soul with eternity in paradise and strength and resolve for his family.

The late parliamentarian was involved in numerous significant engagements in Parliament at the time of his demise. He served in various committees, including the Public Accounts Committee, Committee on Member’s Privileges and Ethics, the Budget Committee and the Joint-Committee of Public Accounts Committee and Committee on Decentralisation.
